The ACLU is a nonpartisan non-profit organisation whose mission is to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country. With more than a million members, activists, and supporters, the ACLU is a nationwide organisation that fights in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C. to safeguard people's rights. The ACLU works daily in courts, legislatures and communities, providing legal assistance in cases where it considers civil liberties to be at risk.
