American Friends Service Committee

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is a Quaker organization that promotes lasting peace with justice, as a practical expression of faith in action. Drawing on continuing spiritual insights and working with people of many backgrounds, we nurture the seeds of change and respect for human life that transform social relations and systems.

Involvement in film

One of our programs is the Wabanaki Program in Maine and AFSC staff is featured in the documentary Dawnland. In 2015 our New Orleans program completed a documentary short about life in New Orleans a decade after Hurricane Katrina. Our Atlanta Program is also involved with media content production and filmmaking.

We can only do what we do because of organisations and individuals who support our work.
Thank you everyone.
