Amudhan R.P.


Amudhan RP is a filmmaker, curator, teacher and film festival organiser from Chennai.
His trilogies on Caste, Nuclear Radiation and Development have been well appreciated and screened across the country.
His films Shit, Notes from the Crematorium and Seruppu as part of the trilogy on caste have been selected in many film festivals and won few awards too.
He is currently making a new trilogy on Hegemony and Consensus. Dollar City, the first film of this trilogy is already out and has been screened around.

Amudhan founded and has been organising annually international documentary film festivals in Madurai and Chennai.
He also curates film festivals on themes like Social Justice, Forest and Human Rights, across India since 2014.

Amudhan regularly works with many film festivals both within and outside India as a member of selection committee and jury.

Amudhan founded MARUPAKKAM, a media activist group in 1996 in Madurai and has been part of it.
MARUPAKKAM is involved in making, screening and disseminating documentaries. Marupakkam also organises regular filmmaking workshops and film festivals across south India.
