Divya Raghunandan

India

Divya Raghunandan is a professional with 18 years of experience in the development sector. She currently serves as the Vice President, Programs at the Azim Premji Philanthropic initiatives in Bangalore . She leads a vertical that enables the institutional capacity building of mid sized organisations that are ready to amplify and scale their work. The vertical also enables the strengthening of community based organisations that have come together to secure their rights and entitlements. There are groups that face multiple marginalisation such as sex workers groups, dalit rural women, lower caste and class disabled rural communities etc.

Before APPI Divya co-founded Common Ground Collective a strategic support firm that helped organisations build campaign and program strategy ; helped organisations
find their way to financial sustainability ; and helped some organisations strengthen their organisation people processes and systems. Some of their partners were Amnesty International, Snehadhara, Jaaga, WASSAN , APPI etc.

Divya spent close to 15 years in Greenpeace starting of as a campaigner on Genetic Engineering and Sustainable agriculture; went on to become the Campaign Director and then served as the Heard of Programs Communications and Actions for Greenpeace
India.

After an MA Social Work degree from the TATA Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai her first job was at Mel Jol and project on child rights and participation . This was a project conceived by TISS in Maharashtara and he helped set up a program in Bangalore.
