Jasmeen Patheeja


asmeen Patheja is the founder , director of Blank Noise; a community of citizens and persons taking agency to end sexual and gender based violence. Patheja initiated Blank Noise in 2003 in response to the silence and denial surrounding street harassment. Over the sixteen years, she has designed a range of participatory events and actions to towards shifting public consciousness and build collective ownership of the issue. Projects are designed to confront fear, build empathy and end victim blame. Select projects include: Meet To Sleep, I Never Ask For It and Talk To Me.

Jasmeen Patheja is a TED speaker, a TED and Ashoka Fellow. In 2015, she received the International Award For Public Art, towards the project Talk To Me (Blank Noise). She is currently shortlisted for the Visible Award. Her practice has received numerous media mentions including, The Atlantic, BBC, The Guardian . Patheja serves on the advisory board of Fem Tech Net. She is currently artist in residence at the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology.
