M.D. Pallavi


MD Pallavi is a singer, composer, actor, editor, sound designer and filmmaker.
Trained in Hindustani classical music, she has been singing Kannada poetry for the last 23 years. She has been awarded the Kempegowda award for her contribution in the field of music. She has won the State Best Playback singer Award in the year 2007. She has acted in films like Girish Kasaravalli’s Gulabi Talkies and Prakash Belawadi’s Stumble and in plays like Abhishek Majumdar’s Muktidham and Prasanna’s Tayavva. She won the Best Actress award at META for her theatrical solo performance, C sharp C blunt. Playgrounds, a short film she has cowritten, edited and directed, won the IFFLA Grand Jury Award at Los Angeles and Best Film award at the Hong Kong Film Festival.
She is keen on interdisciplinary collaborations.
