Thirty years ago, Idaliz Villanueva fled with her two daughters from a violent marriage. While much time has passed, the effects of violence still reverberate throughout their lives and in their home of Puerto Rico, where a state of emergency was called amid a massive rise in domestic and gender-based violence. In search of healing, the family comes together to create a sci-fi inspired short imagining an alternative future where women hold the power. As they write and star in their own film, they revisit difficult moments from their past, challenging both the patriarchal landscape and the origins of violence.

Hace treinta años, Idaliz Villanueva huyó con sus dos hijas de un matrimonio violento. Aunque ha pasado mucho tiempo, los efectos de la violencia aún resuenan en sus vidas y en su hogar, Puerto Rico, donde se decretó un estado de emergencia en medio de un aumento masivo de violencia doméstica y de género. En la búsqueda de sanar, la familia se reúne para crear un cortometraje inspirado en ciencia ficción que imagina un futuro alternativo en el que las mujeres tienen el poder. Mientras escriben y protagonizan su propia película, reviven momentos difíciles de su pasado, desafiando tanto el paisaje patriarcal como los orígenes de la violencia.
