My Girl Story tells the stories of two African American girls from Detroit and their journey to being the young ladies they want to become. The two young women in the film shows the experiences many black girls in Detroit and many urban areas endure but despite of the challenges, they have the power of taking control of their own life story. The film was created to give voice to Generation Z African American girls, especially those living with disabilities.
