Good Pitch Local Deccan makes its debut in a 3-hour virtual event on August 12, 2021 and will stream live via Zoom from 3pm – 6pm IST (Indian Standard Time). The forum will present eight projects from the Indian states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala, and all these projects are based on the theme of gender.
India consistently ranks among the worst countries for gender justice in the world. Further, with the global pandemic in 2020 -21 having bent all paradigms, things have gotten especially hard for women and other marginalised genders with a multiplication of challenges and responsibilities. Since Good Pitch Local is about providing a platform for stories with local connections that include themes urgent and pertinent to our times, this edition will shine a light on diverse gender-related issues.
Good Pitch Local Deccan is hosted by the Indian Documentary Foundation and supported by the Ford Foundation. Friends of the forum include gender partner Point of View, outreach partner CGH Earth, and supporters, 1GEN, Coolab, Whistling Woods, and NMIMS-SOBA.
